Frommer's Review
This hotel is across the street from Junkanoo Beach/Lighthouse Beach/The Western Esplanade, and a short walk from the sometimes raucous nightlife of Arawak Cay. It's also a quick walk from the shops and restaurants of downtown Nassau. El Greco is a well-managed bargain choice that attracts many European and American travelers. The owners and staff genuinely seem to care about their guests --

Just stayed here during a wedding and was not disappointed. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful and our room was great - good size, flatscreen TV and they even brought us a fridge when we asked for one. There's a little wear and tear but we weren't complaining. If you're looking for budget accommodations (at least, as budget as it gets in Nassau) then this is the place. Right across the street from Junkanoo Beach and an easy walk to downtown.

1person found this review helpfulEl Greco is an adorable boutique hotel in downtown Nassau. Located right across the street from the beach, it is colorful and cute.
We traveled to Nassau for a destination wedding which took place at Lyford Cay, a private club about 20 minutes away from El Greco.
There were guest rooms blocked off at a few hotels with El Greco being the "budget" option.
We were trying to minimize travel costs and went ahead and booked the room there, even though we had slight doubts about it.
We were pleasantly surprised throughout our stay there. The rooms were clean, the internet access was free, and the location couldn't be beat.
There were a couple of times when we needed to catch a cab and the front desk staff was really helpful in obtaining one for us right away.
We had a smaller room next to the pool and while it wasn't anything fancy, it was nice enough. It was clean and that's what matters!
There was a gorgeous suite that the groom and his buddies had that had a huge balcony overlooking the beach. It was perfect for relaxing, drinking Kalik and smoking Cubans, which is what they did most of the time :)
I included some photos in my review, but if you'd like to see more, you can do so here:
If you're in Nassau for a destination wedding or vacation, I'd definitely recommend El Greco.
The rooms are nice, the staff is great and the location is unbeatable.

We were pleasantly surprised by the El Greco when we arrived in Nassau at the end of February 09. I wanted to add some more good comments as I think that some of the other reviews were being a bit picky & overly critical. This is not the Atlantis or the resorts on Cable beach but for the price &...

I stayed at El Greco Hotel Jan 20-24, 2009 with some of my friends who went to the US Embassy. I read some of the other reviews and think it some of the people reacted real bad. It was a lovely experience for me and all the front desk staff ( yolanda and crew) was so freindly and sweet, and... more

Moved into this place after moving out of the Nassau Palm Hotel, it's in virtually the same location (1 block closer to downtown), cheaper (I paid $110 per night, the advertised rate was $120 so saving about $32 over the Palm) and a much nicer environment. At a guess I'd say it has about 1/5th of the rooms that the... more

Dec 7, 2008 I stayed at El Greco with friends on Nov. 2008. I had booked it directly, and had been promised (in writing) a room with an ocean view for $160. I got there and found out there are no rooms with ocean views!!! Only one suite, which went for $225. After complaining we got the suite for $200, but still more... more

Very nice place for the price. At first I thought it looked run down but then I realised that was the look the hotel was going for kinda rustic. Very close to shopping and the US Embassy where I needed to go. I would recommend for single or couple. more

Oct 23, 2008 While in Miami we decided to spend a few days in Nassau. Phoned the hotel El Greco direct and was quoted $120 a night. When we arrived we were shown another room for $180 a night.which we opted for, This room was excellent, with french doors leading onto a very large ocean facing balcony that was also shared with two... more

My boyfriend and I flew into Nassau one day early for a company-sponsored trip at The Cove on Atlantis (Paradise Island). Not wanting to foot the $680/nt rate at The Cove, I booked El Greco for the one night. I'll be honest: I am a spoiled traveler, and after reading the reviews, I was a bit leery about our choice.... more
